The Lodge at Mountaineer Square

This week we were privileged with the opportunity to enjoy our annual Summer Meeting held at the Lodge at Mountaineer Square in Crested Butte, Colorado.  The Lodge is located right at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort and provides easy access to the mountain and the gorgeous, quaint downtown that accompanies it.  The accommodations are absolutely spectacular.  For starters, we were greeted by a wonderful valet and concierge service upon our arrival who helped get us all settled in.  The rooms are spectacular and so are the amenities.  During our event we were privileged with drinks and food on top of the mountain at the brand new wedding deck.

We arrived on Thursday and we’re blown away by the hospitality.  The valet takes your bags, parks your car and meets you in your room with your luggage while the front desk briefs you on the many activities available in the town.  Upon arriving in my room, it was no more than 5 minutes before I received a call to make sure everything was as expected; temperature, accommodations and anything else I might need.  If good service is an expectation of yours, you have nothing to worry about with this lodge.

The location is wonderful.  At the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort it makes for easy access to the mountain and they also provide a free shuttle bus to and from the town which is only about 2 miles down the road.  The town is everything you expect from a quaint, Victorian, national historic district.  It’s quiet, but not dead.  It’s humble and beautiful and provides some excellent shopping and dining options.

Thursday evening we took shuttle buses to the top of the mountain where they set up a giant tent and drinks aside their BRAND NEW wedding deck.  Of course if you’re not here with a large event, the chairlift takes you directly to this spot to enjoy the incredible scenic overlook; it’s also accessible via dirt road which you can easily drive up with your own vehicle.  The new wedding deck had me at a loss for words.  It’s a long, brick patio with dropped down seating to accommodate your guests while you walk down the aisle facing one of the more spectacular views Colorado has to offer.  Having personally been to Vail, Aspen, Colorado Springs and much more, this is my favorite view of them all.  Currently the mountain side is littered with yellow and purple flowers that light up the surrounding areas.  The deck overlooks the western half of the Rocky Mountains and provides layering unlike anywhere else.  The layers of mountains create an ominous dark blue backdrop to what would be a very memorable wedding ceremony and reception.

Whether you’re planning a ski trip this winter, a meeting for your employees or taking the big jump to tie the knot, this lodge will have everything you need.  While the town is a bit down the road, everything you would need (short of a grocery store) is right at the base of the mountain.  There are several options for dining and drinks as well as shopping.  If you want to enjoy the majesty that is the Rocky Mountains without the crowds and commercialized towns, Crested Butte is the town for you.

Planning a Meeting? Pick a Venue that will Wow Your Guests!

A common task among hotels is playing host to various business meetings and conferences.  Given the higher levels of formality in the business world, hotels are expected to provide a top-notch experience for your event and all of its attendees—after all, the functionality of your event reflects on your organization, not the hotel which is hosting it.

With that understanding, it comes as no surprise that many hotels offer spectacular meeting and conference rooms.  Since we’re so fortunate to be living in Colorado, we get to experience these high quality venues in a unique way: most hotels are located among or near the mountains, which provides some of the most amazing scenery Colorado has to offer.  Most of the time this scenery can be as simple as a mountain view, but given the nature of Colorful Colorado, most of them provide upper scale landscaping and beautiful surroundings to truly bring the essence of Colorado to life.  Aside from the obvious opportunity of getting to see this scenery for yourself, it often proves beneficial for an organization when your attendees show up and the view that accompanies there long day of meetings and networking takes their breath away.  One thing is for sure; it’s much easier to sit through a long day of meetings when you’re treated to high-end venues, incredible locations and amenities to satisfy all of your (and your guests) needs.

So when planning your next meeting in Colorado, where will it be? We’re going to detail a few venues we’ve experienced first-hand that couldn’t have provided a better experience.

As I write this blog, I’m sitting in an all-day conference at the Manor Vail Lodge in Vail.  The meeting room they’ve provided has surpassed any expectations.  “Offering 12,000 square feet of total Colorado meeting space, Manor Vail Lodge is pleased to customize your next Vail meeting, conference, or event to your specific needs.”  They provided everything necessary including A/V needs, seating/dining needs and a coffee bar to keep your guests alive!  Aside from this place being excellent hosts, upon stepping out the front door you’re greeted with this spectacular view.  A meeting here will make your guests excited to show up!  Click here for mor info on the Manor Vail Lodge meeting rooms!

This summer, the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association (CHLA) will be hosting our annual summer meeting at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Crested Butte.  “The Lodge at Mountaineer Square, (just the name of the conference center) accommodates groups from 20 to 500 with the latest technology for all your meeting and conference needs.”  As the CHLA, if there’s one thing we know, it’s Colorado hotels.  There’s a reason we picked this location to host our summer meeting.  Crested Butte in itself is incredible.   You can truly experience the wonders of this Colorado ski town reaching deep into the Rocky Mountains.  The town is a quaint, Victorian, national historic district with everything you need to enjoy a little escape while getting some work done!  Click here for more info on the Crested Butte Mountain Resort meeting rooms!

In the fall, the CHLA will be hosting its annual conference and tradeshow at The Broadmoor hotel in Colorado Springs.  The hotel in itself is enough reason to plan your meeting here.  The Broadmoor is simply legendary in this state and they have the recognition to prove it!  “The Broadmoor is the longest-running consecutive winner of both the AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star awards.”  Offering 185,000 square feet of meeting space in 62 separate venues, indoor and outdoor, this hotel is guaranteed to have everything you need for your meeting.  Aside from the incredible amenities, the historic town of Colorado Springs has endless activities for your guests to explore.  Everything Colorado has to offer can be experienced in Colorado Springs from fine dining and bars to outdoors activities of all kinds.
